This weekend is Otautahi Urban Foragers first Guerilla Gardening and Picnic expedition
Sunday 12.30-3pm @ Band Rotunda in the Botanic Gardens! ♥ ♥ ♥ !!
For the uninitiated, guerilla gardening simply means planting things in public places, especially useful plants like herbs and fruit bearing ones.
I’m thinking borage, mint, raspberries and sunflowers but only cos we have heaps spare at the moment.
Anything that you would like to contribute is welcome, or just come along and enjoy the company and shared picnic lunch.
Bring food to share if possible, especially if it was foraged, from your garden, and/or grown wild…

I love this idea. We have done a wee bit ourselves, combining the idea with the principles of http://www.ftpf.org. We have used the grass verge outside our place planting a pear and apricot tree, free fruit for the community.
